<-- Back to Secondary Programs

The carpentry program exposes the student to basic trade information and provides a foundation of skills upon which to build a successful career in the carpentry-construction field. Students receive training on power equipment, hand and pneumatic tools while working with wood, wood by-products, and other related materials to complete assigned building projects, including the construction of a modular housing unit. The implementation of industry standard safety practices is included in the curriculum. Job opportunities in carpentry are expected to be excellent through 2012. This will result from the demand for new housing and new commercial properties
